Montreal 1

The connection on the air line, operating the truck brakes, running from the MH to the truck came loose.  I noticed it leaving our last stop,  when we did our safety check stop about a mile down the road.  It was too late though, as the brass connection drug on the pavement, damaging it beyond saving.  I figured I would stop by a hardware store on the way to Quebec and pick up a replacement part.  After a few stops and no luck, I contacted the manufacturer and found out the part was made for them in Germany.  I was not going to find it locally so I asked them to overnight the part to us at our campsite in Quebec.  It came at 7:00AM on the day we left so I spent the morning repairing the line for our trip to Montreal.

We took an indirect route (Hwy 20) from Quebec to Montreal, to avoid as much of the Interstate (Hwy 40) as possible.  We had all day to go about 200 miles.  Most of the drive was on a two lane road, winding through some very small and picturesque towns.

We arrived in Montreal (actually in nearby Saint-Philippe).  This was, by a good measure, the best park we had stayed in during the entire trip.  We were positioned across from the gym/pool/spa, near the music hall and close to other facilities.

We spent the first day visiting the immediate area, including Saint-Philippe, southern Montreal (south of the Saint Lawrence river, and a couple of local wineries. We reviewed the bus schedule into Montreal, and their transit system within the town because of the massive construction that was happening to the road network, but ultimately decided on leaving early and taking our chances driving into town.
