We spent part of a day driving into Detroit. There was the expected decay outside of the main section of town but once we were in the “downtown ” area, we did see some good activity in construction and renovation going on. This is a view from near Joe Louis Arena, current home of the Detroit Redwings. They have a new arena under construction, Little Caesars Arena, a $650 million investment. While turning around in the “Executive” parking area near Joe Louis Arena, we had to wait for a hockey player crossing the street. Carrying the sticks was the obvious giveaway . . .

This is a view of downtown, taken from near the Ford UAW facility . .

This is the General Motors corporate office complex. All of the buildings (and more) are part of General Motors . .

This is Windsor, Ontario, directly across the river. There are two ways to get from here to there. One route is via a high span bridge and the other way is though a tunnel. We are going to take the bridge route when we cross.
