This is us passing Milepost “0”on the Alcan. I forgot to set my trip odometer at this point and we are about 6 kilometers off. But as we travel off route, to and from our campsites, we are slowly catching up.

We met our sisters, Barbara (from California) and Myrna (from Oregon) in Dawson Creek. This is them passing Milepost “0”.

We went from Dawson Creek to Ft. Nelson for the night. Managed an 8 mile run on a neat wooded trail that climbed to the top of a small knoll overlooking the town. Had several switchbacks during the climb. We checked at the Chamber of Commerce about the bear activity before the run and found there was one active in the area. Bear warning signs everywhere. Met a woman on the trail who said there were actually three bears in the area and she turned back the day before when she met one on the trail. We saw evidence (scat) twice on the trail of very recent activity. It was a good run, no bear
